The IBO's mission is to expand business opportunities for the
biometrics industry in Ireland and beyond, advocate government support
for the use of biometrics in leading commercial and public-sector
applications, and report on key issues of strategic importance to our
members. The IBO seeks to accomplish its objectives by providing a wide
range of services to members:
- Developing an online database of IBO members for public review and member authentication/verification.
- Educating decisionmakers, opinion leaders, and the media.
- Delivering information to regulatory and other agencies about issues identified by members.
- Advocating policy positions on issues identified by, and commonly affecting, the membership, to government and the media.
- Providing regular, timely reports about significant
developments affecting biometrics in government and the private sector,
by means of our monthly newsletter.
- Monitoring, evaluating, and advising the membership about biometric standards development and certification programs.
